We are a small assisted living and memory care. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. This dynamic role combines creative culinary leadership with efficient kitchen management, ensuring exceptional food quality, safety standards, and seamless service.

Key Duties

  • Lead and supervise all kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration and excellence
  • Oversee menu planning (with registered dietitian), ensuring a diverse selection that meets guest expectations and dietary requirements
  • Manage food production processes, including preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen operations
  • Control inventory levels through effective inventory management and inventory control practices to minimize waste and optimize costs
  • Coordinate holidays and community events with precision to deliver memorable dining experiences
  • Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and freshness of ingredients
  • Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to uphold safety protocols
  • Lead by example in hospitality and customer service skills to ensure exceptional guest experiences

 

Experience

  • Proven culinary experience with a strong background in assisted living, long term care, or fine dining environments
  • Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant environment
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu development, and food management practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and motivate staff
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and inventory control procedures
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP or local health regulations is essential
  • Previous restaurant management experience is preferred but not required; leadership qualities are key
