Welcome to The Pearl Path, a monthly newsletter highlighting events, birthdays, Pearliversaries, and more. To protect resident privacy, minimal resident information will be provided.
If you or your loved one would like a spotlight, or have something you wish to contribute, please email Shannon.Profitt@thepearlatfairview.com to have your contributions added to the newsletter.
The Pearl at Fairview Assisted Living & Memory Care is having its 3rd birthday party on August 1st, and you're invited!
We'll have vendors set up, including some of our very own — check out Gem & Jans on Facebook for a sneak peek. There will be a Taco Bar serving tacos, fajitas, and all the fixings. Join us in celebrating this milestone as we look ahead to many more years of serving our community!
While independence is a prominent theme each July, at The Pearl it is a core value every day. I like to say Assisted Living is "all the independence you want, with all the assistance you need." We treat each resident as a unique individual rather than a diagnosis or room number. From daily meal choice to personalized routines and ever-changing activity programs, our residents enjoy the autonomy to live freely while receiving tailored assistance.
We also recognize that some residents may reach a point where families must step in to make decisions in their loved one's best interest. In these moments, we serve as a dedicated partner — whether the focus is on longevity or quality of life. From education on disease processes and the risks of noncompliance, to the benefits of healthy choices, our ultimate goal is to facilitate the best possible outcome for every resident. No two situations are the same, and we strive to provide care that honors those individual priorities.
As always, thank you for partnering with us to provide care for your family.

Executive Director
Know the signs of Dehydration, Heat Exhaustion, and Heat Stroke.

Dehydration occurs when the body uses or loses more fluid than it takes in. Anyone can become dehydrated, but the condition is more serious for infants, children, and older adults.
With aging, the body's fluid reserve becomes smaller and its ability to hold on to water is reduced. Older people are less likely to feel thirsty, and may also have conditions such as diabetes and dementia, or take medications, that increase the risk.
Drinking more fluids usually fixes mild to moderate dehydration, but severe dehydration needs medical treatment right away.

The ombudsman does not regulate long-term care facilities, but does work with providers, residents, their families, and others to resolve problems and concerns.
As a friend or relative, you may have questions about obtaining services from resources outside the facility.
From physical therapy to speech therapy, HomeCare Solutions brings valuable insight into managing the transition into your loved one's home at The Pearl.
"HomeCare Solutions brings healing with heart to communities throughout Tennessee. With locally led teams and skilled clinical support, we help families feel comfort, clarity, and peace in the place they call home." — HCS
Mitzi, Brent, Melissa, Tasha, and Julie are regular visitors from HCS who improve the lives of our residents. Melissa gets us up and moving with Move & Groove exercises, and Mitzi stops in to bring treats and brighten our day. Check out photos from the fashion show they recently hosted, with several of their team members participating!
